Anglo Saxon jewellery making

Anglo-Saxon Jewellery Making at the British Library

Learn how to create Anglo-Saxon inspired jewellery designs at the British Library in London.

See my Jewellery artist Instagram and Facebook pages for some images from the October 2018, January 2019 and February 2020 jewellery making masterclasses

During this masterclass taught by jewellery artist Sam Rowena Taylor, we focus on the spiral and scroll designs that commonly decorated Anglo-Saxon manuscripts, metalwork and carvings on stone crosses. You will be taught how to work with wire to recreate a range of spiral design jewellery.

“Great to be given these opportunities to combine my jewellery making teaching, design skills with my fascination for Anglo-Saxon and Celtic artwork and be inspired by the illustrated manuscripts at the British Library.”
